When a steam trap requires maintenance, the time taken to replace or repair it will depend on how easily it can be removed from the pipeline. Often it will have to wait until the whole steam system is shut down. The PC connector's unique design allows steam traps to be quickly and easily replaced in a matter of minutes by simply undoing two bolts. Integral piston valves can be provided to temporarily isolate the steam trap and a bypass valve can be used to maintain a live steam system.
Traditional steam trapping assemblies require many joints between the traps and isolation valves which are potential leak paths. A single permanent in-line connector ignificantly reduces installation time, cuts costs dramatically, and eliminates system leaks.
