Strainer
JFC Strainer is used widely to fluid and gas such as water, oil, air, gas in each field of Oil Refinery, Petrochemical Plant, Waterworks, Power Plant, Iron Manufacturing, Ship-building, Food, Paper Manufacturing, Synthetic Fiber, Water Treatment, etc.

  • Material of JFC Strainer

    Carbon steel (ASTM:A105, A216WCB, A53, A234, A106, A106, A516
    KS : casting steel, SCPH2, SPPS, SPHT, SB42)
    Stainless steel : F304, SUS304, 304L, 316, 316L, 317
    Alloy Steel and Special Steel : Monel, Hastelloy, Aluminium, Bronze, Copper Alloy, Chrome Steel, Nickel Steel, etc.

  • Strainer elements

    Element is very important part as the heart of strainer. So, Corrosion Resistance, Filtration rate and Strength must be considered sufficiently and It must be a structure not to be bypassed the non-filtered fluid between element and body. JFC is manufacturing a high credible strainer that can't compare with other products as it has a long experience and accumulated know-how in field of engineering.

  • Conditions for choosing the Strainer

    >> The Required performance of Strainer is various and the summary is as followigs ;

    1. Must filter exactly a thing over the necessary particles.
    2. Filtration resistance of strainer must be minimum. Specially, it must be no-increase of urgent Filtration Resistance after some using period passed.
    - There is no problem as the absolute value of initial pressure drop in filtration resistance is small. But till a pressure drop reaches the maximum value, the filtration resistance is influenced by the wash cycle is long or short.

    3. Must be a structure that repair and wash is easy.
    4. Pipe Laying with the contiguous equipment (application equipment) must be easy.
    - If the location of nozzle is changed free, the Pipe Laying has a good structure.
    5. Must be a structure to be maintained airtightness between a contacting part of element and a parallel state of strainer.
    6. Element and Equipment Body must maintain the strength to be able to endure in the high-pressure-drop considering the internal, external pressure sufficiently.


  • A primary factor to obstruct a filtration performance.

    1. Case that screen is torn or tangled.
    2. Poor sealing between a contacting part of element and element seat of body side.
    3. Regarding No. 2, as fluid is in an agitated situation during operation the load to happen from element affects the sealing a lot, when the interval between element and seat in Bucket Type is big, when distance between the center of gravity and a seat is long in Y type.
    So, the sealing is influenced by the flow wave of an element and the bypass of non-filtered fluid will happen owing to the poor sealing.
