Wistco applies external coating by cross-head extrusion type for small diameter pipes(3~16inches) and side extrusion tpe for medium and large diameter pipes(8~66inches) and applied internal coating by Spraying liquid epoxy on the warmed pipes in order to quickly cure the epoxy. |
1. Polythylene/External |
A) The external surface is shot-blasted(SIS 05.59.00 SA 2 1/2) by removing millscale and rust, obaining metal surface which facilitates the adhesion. |
B) The pipe is heated in electric or gas oven at a controlled temperature. |
C) The adhesive is then applied by hot melt or copolymer. It binds the polyethclene th the steel. |
D) Immediately afterwards, the extruded polyethylene is coated on the pipe. |
E) After application of the polyethylene, the pipe is colled by spraying water. |
2. Liquid Epoxy/Internal |
A) The internal surface is shot-blasted(SIS 05.59.00 SA 2 1/2) by removing millscale and rust, obtaining metal surface. |
B) The pipe is then coated with liquid epoxy by spraying systems. |
C) When liquid epoxy is coated, the pipe is warmed, in order to quickly cure the epoxy. |
